Gulfside 503: CORNER condo with beachy décor, Free Beach Service, GREAT VIEWS

FREE PARKING AND FREE WIFI!!! There's no mistaking that you are in a beach paradise in this lovely condo. It has several beach-themed decorative accessories, including shells, dolphins, mermaids, lighthouses, birds, and seahorses. It also has various framed pictures of sealife and beach scenes. Additionally, you can listen to the sounds of the waves on the large balcony or even while inside the unit. Accommodations include a king bed in the bedroom, two twins in the guest bedroom, a sleeper sofa, , offering space for up to six guests total. The bedrooms are a great place to relax with newly updated bedrooms! Other features include a full-size washer and dryer in the utility closet, a full kitchen, a counter area in the hallway, and of course the wrap-around balcony.

Gulfside Condominiums is close to Fort Walton’s shopping and dining and a mere ten minutes from Destin, it has a rooftop pool area that provides one of the best views on Okaloosa Island. Guests can get to the beach from the boardwalk at the base of the parking area and can use a barbeque grill that is located along this boardwalk as well.

All of our daily and weekly guests receive the following complimentary guest package: 2 beach chairs and 1 umbrella set up for you on the beach daily (March 1 to October 31); 1 free round of golf at your choice of 6 different courses daily; 1 free pass to a dolphin cruise daily (March to October 31) ; 1 free adult pass to a snorkeling cruise daily (March to September 30) and free WiFi..

  This property is very well maintained, clean, & comfortable. The description is accurate regarding the amenities and how easy it is to get to activities.
  
  Daily, long walks on the beach were amazing. The Boardwalk at Okaloosa Island is about a 1.5 mile walk via the beach. A great way to start the day!
  
  The kitchen was well stocked, there were plenty of clean bath towels available, plenty of hangers in the closets, as well as a hairdryer in each bathroom.
  
  We will definitely use this same unit again when we return for another reunion. We loved it!
  
  For future guests, just be aware this isn’t the type of rental that has spices & oils available for cooking. You need to purchase all of that as well as dishwasher & laundry soap if you plan on doing more than a load of each.
  
  We were fortunate enough to meet the owner of the property and tell her in person how much we loved her place and how well she has kept it updated over the years.

  Unit was nicely remodeled and equipped. We would consider location again . Siding glass door and handle needs some attention. Difficult to open and close. The beach service needs some coaching about customer service and who is the the customer. We raised our umbrella up about foot so we wouldn’t hit our head. The young man came over and told us his boss told him he had to lower the umbrella. What?

  We've been staying at Gulfside for 20+ years. It's always relaxing and enjoyable. Love the ocean views, the rooftop pool, easy access to the beach and ratio of beach to occupant.
  One issue we did have was another occupant in 103 smoking on the balcony. I'm not sure if that's allowed, but it limited our use of our balcony due to the smell. Also, one of the occupants of Dune Pointe on the first floor played loud music all day and into the night (past 11 p.m.) The pool filter wasn't running for some reason and the water needed it. A little buggy.

  I hesitate to review this because I don't want to have a problem rebooking our next stay here. We LOVE this condo. We were there early/mid-May 2021 and 2022. This is a clean, updated, and nicely equipped oceanfront condo with views that can't be beat! I could just live on the balcony but the beach is easy access with two chairs and and umbrella ready for your lounging pleasure from about 9-4 each day. The longest part of your journey to the beach from the unit is getting down the five stories to the ground then a short boardwalk ushers you onto the sugar like sand for a total transit of 2-3 minutes tops. There are maybe 18 units in the whole building and so it has never felt crowded during our two stays here on the beach or in the elevator/stairs of the building. Book it but please just don't take our dates!

  After many stays at various condos on Okaloosa Island, Gulfside 503 is our top choice for a perfect vacation experience. The view from the balcony is unobstructed and provides a sense of privacy. The furnishings are tastefully done and very comfortable.
  This is an older building but appears to be well maintained. Two issues with Unit 503 need to be addressed. The patio door needs to be replaced/refurbished. The effects of salty air has corroded the sliding mechanism causing difficult operation. Sand bags are placed around the glass side wall presumably to prevent rain from entering the unit. The reclining chair (the most comfortable style I have ever experienced) has seen much use and wear and is nearly impossible to operate. Replacement with the same brand would be appreciated by all future vacationers.

  The corner unit was a great size for our family of four and we all felt we could find a quiet spot for ourselves when needed. Loved the location right on the beach so we could assess the crowds, if any. Also really loved the style and design - modern, updated and coastal. Only downside was it could have used a couple more runs with the vacuum and more detailed cleaning. There were several dust bunnies, a food wrapper under a bed and old crumbs in the kitchen. In the time of COVID, this made me thankful we brought some of our own cleaning supplies.

  Very comfortable and spacious living and bedrooms. Very well decorated with matching colours and beach theme pattern throughout. The guest bath was twice as large as the master bath. Although the master bath was connected to a dressing room area with double sinks, the tub/shower combo was soo tight with the toilet in there too. But this really didn't affect my stay. My family will definitely consider this condo and location again later when we return to Ft. Walton.

  This place is great. The condo is very nice. It has a great balcony with a perfect view of the gulf. The pool on the roof is great and relaxing. With 2 small condos on each side makes this a great place to stay. It’s not too crowded on the beach due to less people can stay at these three condos.

  This was our first time staying in a 2 bedroom in Gulfside. We had our daughter and son-n-law with us for the first time, so it was 5 of us all together and it was wonderful. Plenty of room and it had all the cooking utensils and appliances that we needed. Loved the nice toaster over so we didn't have to heat up the big oven for little things. We will definetly be back.   If you want to sit on the patio and look directly at the beautiful sand and water then this place is perfect. On the positive side, it is roomy, clean, steps to the beach and included two chairs and an umbrella from the beach service. Communication was great from the rental company and we were very comfortable there. On the negative side, it’s older and could use some freshening up. Also didn’t like that we had to bring a hair dryer- seems like a basic item you shouldn’t have to use precious suitcase room for. I’m originally from this area and know that traffic can be challenging getting to restaurants and stores, but I would absolutely stay here again. It felt inviting and had a lot of space. Note: we didn’t really cook but there seemed to be all the essentials.

  This is the 2nd time we've stayed at Gulfside 503 and we cant say enough about it!! We love the corner view, the condo is huge and we can pack light because there is a washer / dryer. The rooms are big and the condo is beautiful. My 8 year old loves the rooftop pool and during the time when we vacation, there is usually no one there but us, so she thinks it's all hers! We love having chairs and an umbrella on the beach that come with the condo - it's so nice to not have to rush down in the morning to stake your claim like most places! This will probably not be the last time we stay here ;)

  This unit needs to be completely updated. The appliances need to be replaced too. I felt like I was living in 1989. The handle on the oven door came off when we opened it. Molding around a mirror in the bathroom had come off. Maintaince man taped in back up. Floor tile was worn out with holes and scuff marks. There wasn't any pride in the unit. Wouldn't stay there again and wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.

  Everything was amazing!!!!! ~Sandblaster Sunset Dolphin Cruise was excellent!! We do it every time we come, and those guys are just amazing. Such fun!
  ~NO water pressure in the kitchen is a HUGE issue. And the left side sink in the master bath leaks at the hot knob....
  ~ONE HUGE PROBLEM: the cleaning lady showed up at 830 am!!! Check out is at 10 and Her hovering outside my door was VERY unnerving and I did NOT appreciate it one bit!!! Instructions say I am suppose to leave the condo clean, but yet I pay an EXTREMELY high cleaning fee, so I am NOT going to clean it when Im paying someone else to do it!! (cobwebs and needed dusting upon arrival)

  I will be completely honet tho-the unit photographs better than it is in person, although I would stay there again in a pinch. Missed having the master bedroom on the ocean side; kitchen tile was chipped and sofas had some unsightly stains. The unit is well laid out otherwise tho and management was amazingly prompt when the iron didn't work and the toilets wouldn't flush--fixed within minutes, seriously! The pool on the roof--awesome!

  This was a great condo. Right on the beach with a perfect view - we saw dolphins swimming by twice. The people at Brooks and Shorey were VERY accommodating and helpful.   The condo building was in a perfect location , beach was steps away and you don't have to go walk far to be at the beach and with the umbrella and beach chairs set up all you need to bring is yourself and sunscreen . The only problem I had though is the wifi which was too slow. But overall our stay was great! Also the extra bathroom did not have a shower that was working just a bath tub.

  Great complex and wonderful unit! The only complaint is one that occurs each year - the beach service attendants start taking up the chairs and umbrellas every day at 3:00 pm!! Since they only set up at 8:00 am, it seems that they should leave the set ups until at least 5:00 pm.

    Thank you for your excellent review! We are very happy you had another great vacation on the Okaloosa Island! As for the beach chairs - those should definitely stay on the beach till 5PM. Next time the beach attendant starts collecting them early, please feel free to give us a call! Even though the beach service company is not affiliated with with Brooks and Shorey Resorts, we can always give them a call and see what's going on. Please accept our apologies about that!

  For our first Florida beach vacation we could have not been more happy with our choice of condo. We stayed in 503 and felt right at home.
  Condo was clean, comfortable and had everything in the kitchen we needed. Our kids thought swimming in the rooftop pool was the coolest ever. The guys with the beach service were very accommodating. We will most definitely be back.

  Going during the off season is fun for our family because the beaches are rather empty and none of us like to swim that much, anyway. The property was great and had a great view. The furniture (bed frames) may use a few replacements here and there, but it was overall clean. The bathrooms have very low sinks and toilets, for some reason. The rooftop pool is great, but the outside breezeways on each floor between the doors and the elevator get sandy/wet really easily and you will track all the dirt/water/sand into the condo. Would recommend flipflops for walking around indoors.

  We enjoy Gulfside in general because of the nice size of the condo, the fact that there are fewer people on the beach because of fewer condos in the building, and because of the great pool on the roof. This particular rental had newer furniture and was pretty nice. The views from the porch are always great.

  Nice Beach Front Condo. Just be aware if you drive a large truck parking can be an issue. But after speaking with Management parking is allowed at the Condos next door. VERY CLOSE and not an issue at all.

  This is our 4th stay at this condo. We love it - very relaxing and quiet! Dolphins in the morning. It's right on the beach. Umbrella and chairs included (I burn so this is great!) Beach is not crowded. The condo is clean and has plenty of cooking utensils - if you eat in. We'll be back next year for sure !

  We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Gulfside 503 except for the unusually cold weather! The condo had nothing to do with that of course. The unit is beautiful and so comfortable. I am glad that we were able to make it there before 5 p.m. When we left the keys in the box on our checkout, we could not get the lock open so I would wonder about obtaining a key after 5 p.m. upon checkin. Also, the directions to your building were given to us as if we were driving from Panama City when we were driving from Memphis, TN via Mobile and Pensacola. We will definitely make plans for another visit to the same unit next May if not before.

  Terrific balcony and view. If we weren't on the beach or at the pool, we lived on the balcony. We used it so much, the handle came loose. Brooks and Shorey had it fixed in no time. The folks in the office and the repairman were super friendly and efficient. We can't wait to go back!
