Islander Beach Resorts have access to one of Okaloosa Island's largest gulf-side pools, a shuffleboard court, and a barbeque grill area.   The condo design was excellent. 2 bath , 2 bedrooms both far enough apart for privacy. So glad there was a washer and drying and hair dryers. Well stocked cupboards. May need a little sprucing up. There were some areas that could have had a better cleaning. And there were no cushions for the balcony lounge chairs. This was our second year with staying at the Islander and we hope to make it year three next year.

  My friends and I LOVED our stay. This condo has a gorgeous view of the sunset and a long shoreline distance. It is convenient to dining and fun and only a few steps to the beach. The only aggravating theming was the board walk from the pool was being repaired so we had to walk around the side of the building to another boardwalk.

  We enjoyed our stay however, first 3 days of our stay we could not go out onto the balcony due to construction. Very disappointed in this. I do understand that these things happen but a little more notice would have been nice. We were notified only 3 days before we were to arrive. Was very strange to wake up in the morning and eat meals at the table while having an audience of workers staring in at you. 👎. A few recommendations... our unit needed a serious makeover. The decor was outdated. I also feel like the pictures on website were misleading. The unit was extremely smaller than we anticipated. Also... more towels are needed in the unit. We had 6 people and and barely enough towels, etc. to shower. We did have a washer and dryer in our unit so we constantly had them going,It was doable though. More carts are needed to help haul luggage to and from. We were on seventh floor and had to make so many trips cause nothing was available to help . And the elevator seriously needs air conditioning! Besides the fact that it sounded as if it could break down at any minute. The location was great and the room was clean... I suppose these are most important.

  We loved the set-up/layout of the condo. The condo was clean and organized. Great view from the side,even though not beach front you could still see and hear the ocean. It was an easy walk to the beach and pool. The beach chair set-up was great! Condo had several boogie boards and additional chairs in the laundry room (we brought our own, but would have left them had home if we had known). The only thing that could have been better, was more water pressure and better mattresses. That being said, I would still stay in the same unit again. It was a great condo for the price.

  This condo has lived a hard life and it showed. It is basic accommodations, no frills. Kitchen is tiny, beds are firm and in good shape. Has a good view of beach even though on the side of the building. If you plan to eat out a lot and stay at the pool and beach this condo will do just fine. Large beachside pool is the best feature along with two beach chairs/umbrella.

  We just love the IBR unit 706 for its spaciousness, comfort, and side gulf view. From this unit, not only do you see the beautiful Emerald coastline all the way down to the high rises of Pensacola Beach in the distance, but we also really enjoyed the view of the sound between Okaloosa Island and the mainland. There is always activity to view of the island and of Fort Walton Beach city across the sound. We own ocean front on the Pacific in Oregon, have stayed in a gulf front IBR unit in the past, but with this unit, there is much more to see than only the gulf. Love it, love it!

  We have been "winter Snowbirds" at the Islander #706 and have been very comfortable. The unit is decorated with care and the kitchen is well equipped, prepared a large Christmas dinner and other dinners with guests. In past comments there was something about the dryer. We have been here three months and I cannot find anything wrong with the dryer. In playing around with the settings, I think perhaps they were not starting it with an appropriate setting to engage the timer. Therefore, NOTHING WRONG WITH THE DRYER! We only have positive thoughts about our stay this winter and will return to #706 all next winter.

  July 8th through 13, 2012. The condo was beautifully decorated with a beach theme. There was adequate space for all of us who stayed there. Fully equipped condo with two bedrooms and two bathrooms. The condo is located on the beach so did not have to walk far to get there. Close to restaurants and shopping. A couple of the appliances did not work well i.e. clothes dryer, one of the bathroom sinks and shower. Otherwise, it was an enjoyable stay. Would recommend this condo location for travelers.

  We left a three bedroom unit only to have our flight being rescheduled. When I called the Brooks and Shorey office with an SOS they were very gracious and helpful to get us in to this unit on short notice. The staff were amazing and althought the unit wasn't nearly as nice as the one that we had left earlier in the day it was truely a safe haven from tropical storm Debby. Thank you to the wonderful staff for helping us during a difficult situation.

  Overall I was vey satisfied with the property. However, I experienced two minor problems. First, there was no way connect the DVD to the TV, thus I was not able to view DVDs. Second, the remote control to operate the TV in one bedroom did not work. These minor problems would not prevent me from renting the property again.

  This place had two sliding glass doors that allowed access to a big balcony. The doors/balcony were on the West end of the building and the heat of the sun in the afternoon was such that we would attempt to close the shades. The shades were very old vertical blinds that constantly fell apart everytime you opened/closed them. If they'd replace those - this would get 5 stars across the board.

  Overall the property was okay. My complaints are with the elevator was was extremely slow and very hot. Had it not been for the fact that the room was on the seventh floor I would have been able to carry my bags up faster than the elevator. My condo also had a couple of minor problems. The patio door blinds kept falling off and the microwave was too high for a short person to reach. Other than that the stay was okay.

  I was very disappointed with the furniture and the vertical binds fell everytime you opened or closed them. Several would fall off each time. The elevator is extremely slow and makes noises that you are not sure if it is safe. I took my mother who is 84 and her sister my aunt because they wanted to see the beach so much. They enjoyed being able to see the beach but were unable to stay on the balcony very much. One chair was all that was there and the ones inside were not able to be moved outside due to their size and being so heavy. They were not the type of chair for a balcony. I own a timeshare and and I am use to staying in condos but was surprised with this one.

  This stay was room 706, which I call the old building. This room is sufficient but the heating/cooling system is not very efficient I believe it to be more centrally controlled. I believe a previous guest had smoked in the room as well. I do prefer the properties newer building, the room layouts, controls and kitchen. The location is what I'd call a little more out off the way which I like. Property is usually very clean. I do prefer property management to be onsite. Their smiling faces are always welcome.
