This is a cost efficient way to sleep up to 8 family members, past roommates, or old school buddies, whomever it may be your group will benefit from this rental specifically! Not only does it have bedding arrangements to sleep up to a party of eight (with some furniture rearrangement), but it also features a full kitchen, two full bathrooms, a washer and dryer, and wireless Internet too!

Islander Beach Resorts have access to one of Okaloosa Island's largest gulf-side pools, a shuffleboard court, and a barbeque grill area. A quick stroll across the boardwalk puts you right on the beach! All guests have Free High-Speed Internet access in their unit, as well as wireless Internet access in our lobby..  

The pool is heated the week of Thanksgiving and beginning the week of Christmas until March 31st.

All of our daily and weekly guests receive the following complimentary guest package: 2 beach chairs and umbrella set up for you on the beach (March 1 to October 31); 18 holes of golf with 1/2 cart at Shalimar Pointe Golf Club daily; one free pass to a 2-hour Dolphin Cruise daily (March - October ), 1 adult pass to snorkeling daily (March - September) FREE Internet access.

  We four stayed for one week this October and enjoyed it very much. Thankful for the updated kitchen appliances and nice living room furniture, as well as master bed and bath. Twin bed in 2nd bedroom needs to be replaced...seems broken. It slanted. Balcony furniture nice except for plastic chaise lounge chair. Broken so did not use.

  Our experience was great except for the sofa beds that were so out of date that for my older kids we had to go and purchase 2 different air mattresses so that they could sleep on the floor. They need to be updated or replaced. Other than that everything was great.

  Except for the pullout couches, the experience was excellent. We had 8 guests, so full capacity, and we were unable to utilize the pullout couches as the mattresses were almost nonexistent on them. Very thin and worn out, metal frame cut into our legs getting on and off. It was impossible to to sleep on them. We had 2 of our guests sleeping in the recliners. They definitely need to upgrade those if they’re going to list this as an 8 person accommodation.

  We arrived the day after Hurricane Nate. The minor issues were resolved almost immediately. The living area and kitchen were very comfortable: nice furniture and modern appliances. The king mattress is as bad as previous reviewers suggested, it hurt my back, neither of us slept well. 5 stars to the booking agent, Brooks and Shorey, for helping us find a place on very short notice. Wyndham, who manages the building and grounds only gets 3 stars. There were cleaning issues in the public bathroom by the pool and in hallways. Also, they removed the water hose people used to wash sand off when leaving the beach. Sand was tracked everywhere. The chair and umbrella guy is great. He's polite and friendly and spaces umbrellas and chairs further apart than other places. We will return to the Islander. The only way we'd rent 5009 again would be if the owner replaced the king mattress.

  Pictures give Islander 5009 short of what it truly is!! Yes, it's small. However, it is definitely worth the price. The kitchen has everything you could ever need including a crock pot & a hand mixer!! The beds could use a little upgrading. They are spring mattresses, something you don't see very much anymore! However a simple mattress topper would solve that problem. The resort staff was VERY helpful!!! Overall, a great experience!

  We had a great vacation staying at the Islander 5009. The balcony was awesome but careful walking through the sliding door, as there is a lip you must step over.
  
  Beds in bedroom super comfortable. Pull out beds livingroom not so much. They could use a major refresh. Space was ok for 6 but more suited for 4. It is perfect for a couple with two kids.
  
  Kitchen stocked well except for skillets. We went and bought some skillets at Walmart for $20 bucks. Suggest you bring your own.
  
  The walk to the beach is easy breezy. Pool nice and shaded in the afternoon making it very refreshing.
  
  Overall very relaxing and enjoyable trip. Would stay again just with 4 vs 6.

  The condo was great! Perfect location, and we had a great view of the ocean and pool! The condo was clean and had all the necessary appliances/extras we needed! The ONLY thing that was slightly "off" was the sliding closet doors in the master bedroom. I had to leave them open because they would get off track when closing. Again, not a huge problem, but something that could easily be repaired. Other than that TINY issue, it was great! The condo is perfectly located and within a short distance to terrific entertainment and fabulous restaurants!

  Property in very good condition, very pleasant. All mod cons. Staff at Brookley very helpful. Nice view from the balcony, which is large enough to have a rest or have breakfast comfortably. Sea was wonderful at times, in particular in the morning. Could be rougher and with a bit more algae when the weather was not so good. Apart from the beach, not much activity around. You need to drive about 2 miles to reach shopping areas or restaurants.

  We really enjoyed this room, it was decorated nicely, was clean and we loved the layout. It was chosen because it's one of the few that will allow a stay that is less than a week as we could not do an entire week so the flexibility was appreciated. The only thing on my wish list was that I wish they provided more basics...like dish soap for the kitchen sink, ketchup, mustard, salt, pepper, sugar, etc. Had to shop and get every essential. Other than that, we loved it and will be back!

  Overall the vacation was very good. Great weather and great company. The place was good but is in desperate need of updating. Thee one thing I found disturbing was the amount of people at the pool who were not staying at the condo. They just came by bus and used the facilities. This needs to be addressed. They need to increase the number of check in carts.

  We had a wonderful time as always. The condo was great!! We have stayed at the islander for the last 7 years but had always stayed in a different room. Which we also loved but decided this year to try a new room and loved it more. This condo had so much more seating in the living room so the whole family could be in there relaxing and watching tv together . Loved it!! The water was beautiful all week (no sea weed). We had a great time and will definitely stay here again next year!!!

  This unit was perfect for us. I went with my son, his wife and my 5-year old grandson. The condo had a perfect layout for us four. The kitchen is a good size and had all we needed for cooking and eating. There is even a blender and crockpot. The balcony is the best, it's large with plenty of patio furniture and the view is amazing. We drank our coffee there in the mornings and had our dinners there in the evenings. It was also very clean. I would stay again.

  WE have stayed at other Fort Walton Beach condos, it was our first stay at the Islander, and the stay was very enjoyable. The unit was comfortable, but we did feel there were things that could be improved: (1) Check-in staff was pleasant and helpful, but check-in time window was restrictive, at other condos we are e-mailed a pass code and could arrive anytime after a set time, no need for check-in at a location a few miles away. (2) Tub drain did not drain, did not enjoy standing in pool of water when showering, we were told we should have called, maybe so but I think the cleaning service should do the quality check not us. (3) Nicely appointed, good TV, enjoyed the appliances - seemed new, mattress not so comfortable after a couple of days we adapted, plenty of bath towels but quality more suited to a economy hotel, condo was clean but far from spotless, not as clean as we are used to, paint was overdue in some areas. I probably sound fussy, but we've had none of these issues at previous condo stays, and we have come to expect the same. Love the beach, large balcony and one of the nicest pools on the island, tidy property, little things like gates and foot wash hoses needed some tender loving care.

  I had never stayed at The Islander before but was definitely pleasently surprised. The condo was exactly like the description on line. The rooms were clean and inviting. The beds were comfortable. The sheets were soft and enhanced with downy comforters. Everything that you could possibly think of was provided for your comfort and convienence. The spacious balcony was just perfect for a early morning cup of coffee or a late night cocktail; and the view of the Gulf was superb. The location of the complex was easily accessible to downtown Ft. Walton and the Destin shops and restaurants if that's what your heart desired. I was very pleased and will definitely return, but will make sure to extend my stay.

  The room was amazing, very spacious with everything you need. Loved the 2 bathrooms and the large master bath. Kitchen was very nice and gave lots of room for eating. The view from the balcony was awesome, so close to the beach. Very large pool which we used and enjoyed everyday. The walk to the beach was so short and nice right outside the room as well as we enjoyed the chairs and umbrella every day too..
