It comes equipped with a full kitchen, a washer and dryer, King size bed in the master bedroom, Queen size bed in the guest bedroom along with a queen sleeper sofa in the living room, and a private beachfront balcony on the very top 7th floor facing our beautiful Emerald Coast. Stylish Bamboo provisions in the dining and snack bar areas make for cozy and comfortable together time while keeping it classy. The ravishing red paint really pops and brings an atmosphere of pep for your Florida vacation - sit comfortably while enjoying some relaxation time - because after all, you deserve it!! Condo 7008 HAS IT ALL! The master bedroom as well as the living room feature flat screen TVs. Tile flooring throughout. Islander Beach Resorts have access to one of Okaloosa Island's largest gulf-side pools, a shuffleboard court, and a barbeque grill area. A quick stroll across the boardwalk puts you right on the beach! All guests have Free High-Speed Internet access in their unit, as well as wireless Internet access in our lobby.
Islander Beach Resort has a two vehicle limit.
The pool is heated the week of Thanksgiving and beginning the week of Christmas until March 31st.

  As always, my vacation overall was wonderful. I love the location and have stayed in the same condo, twice a year sometimes, for several years. I do feel that the patio furniture badly needs an upgrade. Chaise lounges need to be added and get rid of the uncomfortable bench and chairs. The dining table and chairs are sufficient and the 2 rockers. The side table needs replacing; it is broke and the top could fall off and hurt someone. The living room furniture is not very comfortable and neither of the mattresses on the beds. I think it would add to the appeal of the unit greatly if comfort was more of a factor.

A few basics are missing from the kitchen (a pitcher, for instance), the balcony furniture cushions are worn out and stained, cushions in the dining chairs are flat, and the TV in the master bedroom will only play one channel. Minor things that should be addressed, but didn't keep us from enjoying our week at the beach.

  Staying in our favorite vacation rental unit is always a treat! We had a great, low key time which was the goal. My only complaint was with the Islander, not the unit. They added a pool code this year that was 6 digits. I could never remember it so walked around the pool to get to the beach walkway every day, which was a little annoying. I saw people yelling out the code to others, climbing the gate, etc. Just a minor annoyance.

  We have stayed at Islander and in this unit many times. This was probably the best stay as far as overall condition of the property. It has been 5 years since our last stay but since then the outside of the building has been painted a lovely blue. The elevators were all working (which hasn't always been the case - and when you're on the 7th floor that can be a challenge), and the unit itself was well maintained (except for a noisy ceiling fan in the living room). I would like to see the management ban smoking completely from the property. Smoking is allowed on the balcony and we were driven off our balcony several times due to the cigarette smoke wafting in from a unit near us. Also, someone was grilling on their balcony which is against state law.

  This was our second time staying with Brooks and Shorey and this unit was better than the first one we stayed in!. The condo we stayed in was clean and had everything we needed. It’s on the 7th (top) floor and the view is gorgeous! Will definitely stay with them again if I have the opportunity in the future! The only thing I wish the units had was recliners. I understand why they don’t but the furniture is very uncomfortable to rest on after a long day walking or on the beach. I’m still very satisfied with my stay and would recommend them to anyone!

  We were concerned about cleanliness due to having read a previous negative review, however we found the condo to be very clean. The proximity to the to be fantastic. Closer than most condos. We were disappointed that only 1 of 2 elevators were functioning and it was broken down when we checked in. We were on the 7th floor and not happy with the task of hauling all our luggage up 7 flights of stairs. Fortunately the desk clerk came to or aid even thought it was outside her realm of responsibility. She did a great job assisting and arranging other assistance. Customer service at it's best. It would have been good to know that only one elevator was functioning when we booked our room. According to an owner this situation had been an issue since early September.

  This unit was very nice and well equipped. We especially enjoyed the rockers on the patio with a beautiful beach view. The master bed was comfortable but a little noisy when turning during night.
  This is not anything to do with our unit but the time we were there only 1 of 2 elevators was working and on the morning of our departure the fire alarm went off and the 1 elevator stopped running. Also while we were trying to get our stuff out the heating and air people came to replace the 8nside unit so it was a hassle trying to get out hyb10 AM.

The condo was very nice, super comfortable living room furniture, comfortable bed in the master bedroom, and the condo was nice and clean. We enjoyed the big balcony and comfortable rocking chairs. We loved having the free beach service and my husband enjoyed the free golf amenity provided by Brooks and Shorey. First time dealing with Brooks and Shorey, didn't have to "check in", just got a call telling us our condo was ready and received the lock code. Convenient and easy. We really like the Fort Walton Beach area and would stay in this unit again. We enjoyed pizza and German food at Fokker's Pub, and great steamed shrimp at Brotula's in Destin.

  First the good: Brooks & Shorey are a fantastic company to work with. The communication was fantastic, the staff considerate and professional. The beach at the Islander is great but the pool is a little small. The complex was clean and well maintained and overall the unit was nice. The living room furniture looked new and was very comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked. Now the not so good (which most will find nitpicky but it's my review): found hair on the bathroom floor and sink when we checked in. Not a big deal but not a great first impression. The bed in the master bedroom has a lot of 'nesting' from use and wasn't comfortable. My husband and I both woke up with backaches every morning. There was no remote for the smart TV in the living room so we couldn't use our Netflix account as there was no way to get to the TV menu. The steak knives and baking sheet were rusty. The countertops have permanent stains. Over the years we've stayed at some really outstanding places and some not so much. With all that being said this unit still ranks among the top. This was our second time to rent through Brooks & Shorey and I won't hesitate to rent through them again.

  This property is located on the peaceful west end of the island. Restaurants and shops are located closer to the bridge. The codo was a bit over furnished for our taste, with way too many mirrors . . . walls of them! The balcony was very large and the view and access to the beach was great. Two bathrooms was a plus. The movie kiosk with complementary movie rentals was no longer at the location indicated on information we received, and no one knew that. We were finally directed to a machine at another property. It was a little frustrating as we chased all over looking for it.

  We love Ft. Walton beach and we really love this unit. It's very roomy and nicely decorated. It looks just like the pictures. We've stayed here several times and it's always very neat and clean. The last time we stayed a few years ago there was a minor issue with the dishwasher and maintenance came right away a repaired it. The pool is very clean and never crowded. We appreciate the family atmosphere. Wicker rockers have been added to the balcony since we last stayed and we really enjoyed those since we spend most of our time on the balcony when we are in the unit. We will definitely stay here again on our next visit to Ft. Walton.

  This is the 4th time we have stayed at the Islander Beach and 7008 was no different than the others. It was wonderful. A beautiful condo and views that are to die for. This is my happy place and not mention my husband and children ages 9, 4 and 9 months love it too!! On a side note, Floyd's was a wonderful place to eat.   We really enjoyed our stay, we had an Awesome time. The condo was exactly how it appears on the website. The view is beautiful from the seventh floor balcony. We enjoyed the Dolphin's that decided to play in front of the condo in the morning and some days in the early evening. The weather was on our side and was on the beach everyday. Enjoyed many good local restaurants, would have to say the best was McGuire's. Brooks and Shorey Resorts personal were a pleasure to work with to ready us for such a awesome vacation. They had the condo clean and ready to enjoy. We will recommend this condo/beach to our friends and family. Pasadena, MD

  Everything was great as far as the stay and all of your personnel, however, those in charge need to monitor the fishing on the beach when vacationers are trying to swim. One of my friends was nearly hit in the water when one of the lines was being casted. Also, swimmers could get hooked.

    We are glad that you enjoyed your stay with us. We do advise that people be careful when crossing fisherman on the beach for this very reason. Unfortunately there are no laws in place to stop people from fishing on the beach. The majority do however fish from the pier so the beach does not have too many fisherman. We hope this has not discouraged you from visiting Okaloosa Island again.

  Nice condo! Had to buy hangers for the closet. Coffee pot didn't work but called the office and they brought one in an hour. Really wanted a later checkout time since the weather had been so bad but was denied as I assume others were coming in. Overall a good unit though. Loved getting the free golf per day!!

  You never know what you're really going to get when you rent a condo. You just cross your fingers, read everyone's reviews and take a chance. I am really hard to please when it comes to accomodations away from my home. Cleanliness is top on the list followed by location and amenities. Well, folks I can tell you that Islander Beach Resort Condo #7008 in Fort Walton Beach, Florida is AWESOME!!! It gets 5 stars for all that I just mentioned. There's no way the pictures on the internet can make you realize the breathtaking views from the balcony. "Brooks and Shorey" made the check in and check out very easy. The also suggested things to do and places to eat. By the way High Tide Resturant gets two thumbs up from me and so does Sea Blaster which is a dolphin cruz. We have three children, all girls, 11, 9 and 3 years old and they loved everything about the stay. To Brooks and Shorey, Islander Beach Resort and whoever owns #7008 thanks so much for the memories. Lord willing we WILL BE BACK!

  We booked this condo from the website. Based on the reviews and info, we booked immediately. This unit was very clean and had an amazing view. We really enjoyed the free beach chairs and umbrella that was set up each morning. Many attractions are very close. The revamped Gulfarium, mini-golf, outlet mall in Destin, etc.. Kids loved the beach, pool and the area. We will definitely rent this unit again. We have rented in Gulf Shores and Navarre Beach the last 10 years. This is the best unit and location. Very happy.
