On the balcony, you'll find upscale PVC-style furniture designed for ultimate relaxation. Enjoy the incredible Gulf views, or unwind around the patio table while taking in an eastward view of the pool area—perfect for keeping an eye on any little ones!

Islander Beach Resorts have access to one of Okaloosa Island's largest gulf-side pools, a shuffleboard court, and a barbeque grill area. A quick stroll across the boardwalk puts you right on the beach! All guests have Free High-Speed Internet access in their unit, as well as wireless Internet access in our lobby.
Islander Beach Resort has a two vehicle limit.
The pool is heated the week of Thanksgiving and beginning the week of Christmas until March 31st.

    We loved our stay! This was not the unit we had initially booked. Due to some major updates the other complex was having we had to sadly find a new place. This place did not disappoint us! This place was larger than the initial one. It was located in a quiet spot. Seriously a quiet spot to stay, with all the units and families that were staying here, we rarely heard any other sounds inside of our unit. The view as soon as you walk in was amazing! There’s a large heated pool for the kids to enjoy since the ocean is pretty chilly in March. We loved having a view of the pool so we could see if it was too busy prior to heading down- it never was! The kitchen came with hand towels and hot pads which many times is lacking for a vacation rental. Brooks & Shorey is a very well run company with amazing customer service! We would definitely stay here again! The only request we could think of to make it better was to have a curtain on the guest bedroom (with two beds) window as the light directly outside of it still shown through the blinds.

    The complementary chairs and sun shade was a wonderful addition! We took advantage of that each day that it was sunny.

    Perfect location on the beach. We had 3 couples plus kids, and the fact that each bedroom has its own bathroom was perfect. We loved the balcony for morning coffee, evening winding down and any other time we wanted the open space. The condo itself was great. Beds comfy as well as common rooms. Some of us played at the pool and others at the beach. The location was great for a beach wedding and other festivities in Destin. We were there in the off season, so no places were too crowded.     I have nothing but positive things to say about Brooks and Shorey and their ease and professionalism throughout the rental process. Everything was fast, simple, and just as described. This is our 6th year in a row staying at Islander Beach Resort, but our first time in a 3BR. All the other condos we stayed in were up-to-date in decor and appliances. The showers and faucets in this one look like the cheapest ones you can find in Wal-Mart, and the fridge needed some new shelves in there (previously broken I assume). The full size washer and dryer were AMAZING, albeit they are in the bedroom with 2 beds, so disturbing to those staying in there if you need to do laundry early am or late at night. The mirrors on all the walls in the dining room and bedrooms were a bit daunting, but we got used to them after a while--kids had to run into them a few times before they got the idea (ha!). Overall, we would stay in this condo again as the size was perfect for our family and adult children. The one complaint I have about Islander, which was new this year, is that they pick up the umbrellas by the pool at 4pm. At this time, the entire pool area is still covered in sun and doesn't get shady until around 5pm. We asked the guy picking them up why they did that so early and his response was "because that's what time I get off." HOWEVER, there has to be someone still on premises because they promptly started kicking us out of the pool area at 9:50 pm. Not sure why that person can't pick up the 6 or 7 umbrellas they have around the pool area.

    We really enjoyed our stay. The only thing I would change is updating the outdated furniture, add black-out curtains to all bedrooms and providing kitchen towels and dish clothes. The master bed wasn’t very stable and every time you shifted the bed would squeak and hit the glass mirror. Two of the dining room table chair were broken not a big deal but could had been a safety issue. We told the staff and they were sending maintenance out to fix. Also bedrooms facing the outside of building needs blackout curtains. It was very bright in rooms at night from the lights on the walkways.

    The staff was very friendly and helpful to anything we needed. When we had a minor issue maintenance was in our room within 5 minutes to help us.

    Overall we loved our stay. It was a great location, with amazing views and the beach chair service was so nice to have. The condo got a fresh coat of paint and it looked amazing. Guest services was helpful and courteous. That is most important to me. They were always kind and very helpful. Would definitely recommend this condo to anyone wanting to visit the area.

    My vacation was ok. You need to know this. Whoever owns this condo needs a remodel. I had this same room back in 2016. That’s was 5 yrs ago and it needed help then. I don’t think they put the money back into this condo. I’ll give you a list of why:

    1. The bed in the master bedroom was lumpy and should have been changed out yrs ago. 2. The kitchen is lacking supplies. (It’s a good thing I knew what I was getting into. I bought my own pots and supplies). The furniture is outdated and no where for a condo that sleeps 8-10 for people to sit. The table only had 5 chairs and one of them were broken. How did you expect 8-10 people to eat. Well, we ate standing up!! The stove either work on high or nothing. I could go on and on.

    Because I’ve used brooks and shorey for many years. I know what other condos looks like and 7010 is by far the WORST!!

    The only reason you got a 1 star is because I couldn’t choose NO STARS AND **** NO, I would not recommend that room to anyone.

    Just know! My husband and I had to come home and see a chiropractor for our backs because the bed was so BAD. That’s money I shouldn’t have had to spend after paying that kind of money for a condo!!!

    The condo was on the 7th floor, great views saw dolphins every morning. Our only complaint was one of the elevators were broken and we had to hike up the stairs a few times,it was a long hike. The facilities were being renovated, I think we should have been given a discount for the noise. Otherwise the inside condo accommendations were very nice

    Condo was clean, had an issue with one of the stove burners...contacted Brooks and Shorey and it was immediately taken care of. I had read bad reviews about the beach chair service...we had EXCELLENT service. We informed the guy of our room number and check out date and our chairs were reserved with our group each day!

    the unit was really nice. Large and spacey.
    However bring your own pots as there were only 2 frying pans and a 2qt sauce pan and bring our own pot holders as there were none of those either.
    There were also only 3 carts for guests unpacking and packing on Saturdays there NEEDS to be more.

    The location and beach are beautiful. The unit 7010 needs some major updating and repairs. The furniture is old and dirty, the cabinet doors and closet doors are falling off hinges. My father had to fix the sink and toilet in the bathroom, and reattach the cabinet doors and closet doors.

      The location of this condo is absolutely perfect we're glad you enjoyed the views it provides. We'll get our general manager in this condo and make sure everything is up to standards. We have maintenance to address all issues on site every day 830-5 and after hours for emergencies. The sink, toilet, cabinet and closet doors are all things that we address as they arise and we would've had maintenance there in a heartbeat. Please keep this in mind for future visits.     Three couples rented this condo and it was very roomy and mostly comfortable. The bed in the master bedroom was probably the worst bed I have ever slept on. Our backs hurt every day we were there. There were no pot holders and not enough kitchen towels. The rental was very clean and enough kitchen supplies. I would recommend this room IF the bed was changed in the master bedroom.

    The unit we rented was as nice as we remembered. It was clean, roomy and had some updates. The cable service was different and didn't have the selection I remembered from the previous year. That would have been less important except for the weather... Fl. weather can be pretty unpredictable in Aug. Also we had a problem with 1 of the tvs that wasn't resolved until Wed. after an arrival on Sat. Some seating had been removed, leaving a bit of void on the balcony and living room. All in all I would definitely rent the unit again.

    The location was exactly what we expected. The layout and size of the unit was better than we expected. we were running just a couple of minutes late on our arrival but Sherry at the rental office waited for us so we did not have to come back the next morning for full check in. I would highly recommend this property and would stay here again. There is plenty to do within a very short drive and we took in a Dolphin/snorkeling cruise and we also enjoyed the complementary chairs and umbrella that was but out for us each morning.

    The beach was wonderful. The water was clear and weather was beautiful. We will never use Brooks and Shorey again. They are Heartless. My mother had to miss her vacation because she had to have emergency open heart surgery. 2 weeks before check in tried to cancel because we didn't get the trip insurance. Who could ever imagine this would happen and they told me if we didn't come we would loss the money. So while my mother laid in a hospital bed she missed her vacation. The room wasn't clean the carpet was stained the furniture wasn't cleaned under found dirty underwear under the twin bed.

    We had a great time. The unit isn't new but it is very well maintained. It was clean and all the appliances worked well. The master bed, my room, was quite comfortable; some of the best rest I've had in awhile. It's close to Destin with plenty of attractions as well as local fun places. The restaurants weren't anything to write home about, but I'm not a foodie. We are looking forward to going back next summer if not before!

    We come to Fort Walton Beach every year and stay with Brooks and Shorey. This condo was a slight step down from other Brooks and Shorey condos we have stayed in. It has a great setup and great location, but really needs an update. I would recommend getting rid of the carpet also. Too much sand for carpet. We would stay here again, but I would not say this should have the same price point as Brooks and Shorey's other condos unless there is an upgrade. Also, when we picked up our packet upon arrival, there was a picture of the front of the Islander showing where our entrance was. We unloaded our luggage with two babies, went all the way up to the 7th floor, only to find out the wrong entrance was shown on the picture and we were in the wrong building. Otherwise, we really enjoyed our stay!

    Loved the layout of the condo and how it was decorated in the beach theme. Very comfortable and cozy. Large living space too. Worst part was previous renter had cooked fish and smelled really bad first couple of days. Did not like having to use keys instead of keyless entry and having to stop and 'check in'. Read the fine print because you are not guaranteed the condo at 4pm when it states check in time. You could have to wait up to an hour!!

      Thank you for your online review! We are happy that you enjoyed the condo and that you found it comfortable an cozy. That is great! Unfortunately, not all of our rentals have a keyless entry as it is up to the condo owner to decide what kind of entry they would like for their unit. Since we do need our customers to sign the rental agreement and all receipts of payment, it is truly necessary for everyone to stop at the desk to check-in before you can enter the condo. Yes, our check-in time STARTS at 4PM and continues on even after hours as a courtesy to our guests. We hope to see you again on the Okaloosa Island!

    condo was very nice we had lots of room for everyone. the washer and dryer being in the bedroom was odd. the cleaning ladies need to check all bathroom drawers we found tobacco poured out in one to the bathrooms drawers that should have been cleaned up a few dishes that was not clean and put in the cabinet but our overall stay was great.We will be back

    Excellent overall experience. Spacious accommodations. Perfect Gulf view. Well stocked kitchen. Easy access to elevator/beach/pool. Location was very close to restaurants, attractions, Destin. Air conditioning was great during the day, but not cold enough at night. DVD player in the living room was not working. Called office and was told that they would replace it on Monday or Tuesday because maintenance was not available for the weekend. No one ever came to replace it. It didn't really affect us too much. There was a working DVD player in another bedroom that the kids used. The exercise room was small, but I was able to get an adequate workout. Honestly, we had the best and most relaxing vacation we've had in a long time.

    Our overall stay at the condo was nice. I liked that we had plenty of towels and wash cloths. I did not like how we could not check in until 4:00 and office closes at 5:00. Then I have to take time of out my vacation to officially check in or I'm charged a 55$ fee.

    The new doors and window treatments have certainly enhanced the condo for guests and owner. Will lower heating and AC bils for owner. Was able to speak with owner and expressed the advantages of the above. He said he would look into 2 new chairs for living room as the present ones have you sitting near the floor. Told management about mold around 2 back windows Also this condo in very heavy with plastic plants and trees which are old and dusty. Possibly the owner would care to dispose of some?.Had a very unpleasant experience upon our arrival with a young lady. Eva is always professional! Hope to be able to check in next year on the 30th of Dec and stay until the Sunday after the 5th to aid our heavy traffic travel. Have had MANY good years with B&S and are very comfy in our 7010.     The new windows and draperies are a very welcome much cozier.Everthing was addressed by the staff when a concern was brought to their attention. 2 blue chairs in living room nedd replacement.They are leaving black marks on the carpeting and we brought it to the attention of the staff. Tom checked it out. Owner hopes to replace them since they leave you sittting almost on the floor. We love it here and it is always a happy time.

    THIS WAS BY FAR THE BEST AND NICEST PLACE WE HAVE EVER STAYED IN. THE OVERALL CONDITION OF THE CONDO WAS EXCELLENT, WE LOVED THE DECOR, WE HAD SO MUCH ROOM.     Overall I was happy with the property. Nice view, nice beach. My only complaint is that I asked for a condo that was withing walking distance to the intersection entering Okaloosa Island. When we got our condo, it was one of the furtherest away. We spent a lot of money on cab fare that we wouldn't have had to spend had I gotten what I asked for. It was a nice condo, which I would recommend to someone that didn't mind staying so far out the island. One other thing, the elevators are the slowest that I have ever seen. It's a good thing that there aren't more floors.

    The condo was very large and decorated nicely. It could use a good carpet cleaning, but regular housekeeping was fine. It was not too fancy, but this was great because we have four young kids with us. We loved it! The balcony was huge which we loved.

    Disappointed that we didn't get to check in till after 6 pm. But the room was very nice and clean and everybody was nice. After we got home I discovered that a pack of my husbands contact lenses were left there. I contacted Brooks and Shorey and they went out of their way to look for them. They found them and mailed them to us. Thanks to that we saved $50 due to not having to order another pack of lenses. Try not to forget anything but if you do, they will do their best to find and send it to you.

    Did send a review.Our condo is in need of furniture. A comfortable chair or 2 and renewed kitchen chairs(6) Bed is comfortable as is patio furnishings. Lamps are shabby.The pic shows the one side of the condo. The other is completely withour furnishings and full of old greenery that we feel should be removed. Nice new TV's Had a pleasant stay.Other buildings are much better furnished but as snowbirds it is the people that we enjoy. It is our opinion that it would be difficult to rent to summer tourists since other buildings have more to offer at the same price.

    our condo was quite clean.We would very much appreciate some living room furniture. We have a nice sofa,2 very difficult side chairs. Sink Way down.That's it.We bring 2 chairs from the balcony so we have a place for guests.A recliner would be a great addition. Guests have to bring their own chairs for dinner as well. We have 5. Owners had carpeting and furniture cleaned.

    I would like consideration for the fact that the beach was closed for 2 of the 4 days we were there. Because B and S requires payment 30 days in advance, we could not cancel our last two days and go home when the hurricane effects hit our location. We
    were condo bound which was not our intent. Mr. Shorey told me they rent the property, and not the beach, but the only reason we rent the property is because it is on the beach.....I talked to other clients who stayed during the same time frame, and their rental
    agents offered them two days' refund....

    the only thing I did not like was upon check in at noon, I was not able to pick up keys, I felt like if I trusted you w/ my credit card # for a $300 sec dep. you could trust me w/a key for 4 hours. I had to make a second trip to the office in heavy traffic at 5pm for the keys. I requested 2 keys, I received 1 key in the lock box. upon calling the next day to ask if someone in cleaning or maint. could drop off the the key I was told NO, HOWEVER the wonderful lady, Mary Ann called me back Immed. and brought the key to me. I assure you, she saved the relationship w/ your company. I appreciate her attitude very much and suggest she share that attitude w/ some of the folks that ans. the phone. thanks

    We stayed at the Islander in June, 2011, with family and had 4 different condos all rented through Brookes and Shorey & all on the 7th floor. All the condos were very nice but 7010 definitely had the most space! The employees at Brookes and Shorey were fantastic!! Would definitely recommend renting through them and staying at the Islander!!

    We have been comming to the Islander for several years! The property and the rooms have always been great! The only thing I wish would change is that the windows need shades or curtains to make the rooms darker. When on vacation most people don't want to be woke up at 5:30 with the sun comming in.

    I liked the condo. I would really have liked having sun umbrellas at the pool, because it was like a frying pan in the daytime. The property seems a little old and worn overall. The main disappointment was the green algae in the water all week, but that isn't your fault.

    I have often booked with your company in the past and I found the Islander a good place. I'd never stayed there before. However I purchased insurance because i was taking my dad, 87 and in-laws (81 and 83) as well as my wife and two kids. after the big floods in Nashville i had to rebook for later in the summer, which was no problem. Then, a month before we came, i called to cancel because of the reports of oil on the beaches. I was told I needn't cancel, that I could cancel right up until the last minute. So I agreed to stay booked. In the interim period I had a serious car wreck, and the reports of oil continued, with warnings from Escambia county web site, etc. Also, with all of the problems with the flood and car wreck, I decided we probably shouldn't go and since I was told I could cancel right up until the last minute, I called. The young woman who handled my request was very kind. Mr. Shorey or Mr. Brooks, I'm not sure which one,then got on the phone and told me there was no way I could cancel, that the policy had changed and that if I did not come, I'd lose my money. He was very rude. And I also checked with the insurance company, which said I'd have to file typical, long paperwork. Since insurance companies have not been helpful to me in the flood and in the wreck (I was t-boned by a driver who ran a light) I had no faith that would work. So I decided the only thing to do was to come down there, since I was going to lose my money if I didn't. The stay in general was good, the facilities nice. However, the last day of our stay there was an eyeopener: A large group from New Orleans turned the pool area into an adults-only drunken party that went on way into the night, making it almost impossible to sleep. Since there was no security on site, I didn't know what to do other than sit there and fume about how a trip that was ill-destined in the first place was ending on a sour note.     We love the Islander. We have stayed there each summer for about 20 years. Only thing is there needs to be some ventilation in the elevators. Other than that we had a great time as usual.

    One of the closets in the master bedroom smelled like urine. We had to keep it closed at all times because the smell was so strong. The oven handle was broken, which was a pain. Some of the light bulbs were missing in the lamps.
