This upgraded two bedroom / two bath condo with new granite countertops in the kitchen and both bathrooms, sleeps up to 8 guests! Featuring an EXTRA bunk room with sleeping arrangements for 2, this is a very budget friendly solution for your big party. Priced as a 2 bedroom but really has THREE separate sleeping areas. The layout is great, everyone gets their privacy. The spacious master bedroom is on the beach side with the entry to the beach front balcony. Incredible views can be seen from the dining and kitchen areas. Meal prep is made easy as the kitchen is fully equipped and has lots of counter space and storage. For added convenience a washer and dryer can be found in this amazing condo. The Gulf Dunes property is at a great location, close to everything yet very private. Just a short walk to the Okaloosa Island's BOARDWALK where you find multiple restaurants and shops as well as activities for the whole family. Close to shopping and several eateries. The property features 2 beach front pools, tennis courts, exercise room, BBQ grills and elevators. This property is sure to please you!

Gulf Dunes Condominiums is close to Fort Walton’s shopping and dining and a mere ten minutes from Destin. Stroll along the beach to the Okaloosa fishing pier or Boardwalk. Stay with us and enjoy access to two beachside swimming pools (one heated November – March), private beach walkover, exercise room, tennis court, and a barbecue area.

  We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Gulf Dunes. The condo was clean, and spacious, and matched the description in the photos. The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed. The ice maker was a bonus. The bed was comfortable but a bit firmer than we are used to. The only recommendation I would make is to add an ottoman to the furniture in the living room so that there is a comfortable place to rest your feet!
  The view from the balcony was amazing. We enjoyed watching the dolphins swim by in the early morning. We also took advantage of the offered Explorie activities and my husband golfed several times! We highly recommend The Shack restaurant in Fort Walton Beach (excellent Lobster Crab Cakes) and BoShamps in Destin for a pricier but excellent seafood dinner!
  We cannot wait to return and will definitely use Brooks and Shorey again!!

  Always a pleasure at Gulf Dunes. The only thing negative about this trip was not being able to sit on the balcony due to cigarette and pot smoke coming our way from neighbors. My daughter has asthma so we wish there could be a smoker's building and a total non-smokers building. And I think marijuana is illegal in Florida. Seemed to be from a couple of doors down from us...maybe 506 or 505. But hard to say for sure. Also the 2nd bedroom tv did not work at picture on it; just "no cable" sign when turned on screen. We love Gulf Dunes. Maryanna is the best!

  The view from this unit is amazing. The unit could use a deep cleaning and some updates. It seems tired. We stayed in this unit a couple of years ago and the comforters are the same and quite worn. The stove needs to be replaced as does the dryer. The cabinets are peeling and are in need of replacing as well. Our trip was amazing and the view was beautiful.

I also appreciate the ease of leaving without a huge list of chores that other rentals have left. We loved having a beach side pool.   Loved the location, view, beaches, and ample space. The condo seems to have a new hot water heater, which no cold showers really do matter when you're getting 5 people showered for dinner out after a beach day. The floors are beautiful and the decor is nice and beachy. The kitchen counters and appliances definitely need to be replaced and upgraded asap for sure. With those and some improvements they are already in the works on (cabinet fronts), this condo would be nearly perfect. Easy check in and checkout and having a nice person like MaryAnn at the desk right at the condo location is great! I will definitely be keeping my eye on this condo for upgrades for future spring break rental possibilities!

  Our stay in Gulf Dunes 508 was satisfying overall. The unit was clean and in good shape. The two bedrooms were large enough and the bunk room came in handy. The appliances were adequate but not outstanding. The dishwasher needs a bit of a nudge to begin it's cycle and the refrigerator's inside drawer and the beverage holder fall off easily. The balcony furniture was better than expected although the inside couch and chairs look nice but are very uncomfortable for sitting. All in all, this unit met our expectations and we would in no way would hesitate to stay here again. The on-site staff were extraordinarily helpful and pleasant to deal with. Great experience.

  Over-all it was very satisfing. Out of the 3 condos that our group rented, I liked ours the best. Very nicely decorated. Very comfortable bed in the master room! Great being on the 5 th floor! Very nice table and chairs on the deck! Really nice having the 2 beach chairs and umbrella and the guys setting them up were very accommodating to groups. The condo complex even had rafts,noodles, boogie boards etc. to borrow. Only recommendations: couch was very worn down in the middle and only one person could sit on it because everyone would roll to the middle! Baseboards were not very clean And the throw rugs in the kitchen and bathroom did not appear to be clean so we rolled them up out of the way!
  The property was very clean and the management was very helpful.
  The location is great because it's not as congested as Destin but if you wanted go to Destin, it's only 7 miles from the condo.

  We loved the easy access to the beach. The kids loved the pool. Hearing the ocean at night was wonderful!! The washer and dryer along with the full kitchen made it easy to care for our family while entertaining our triplets with adventures on the beach and free movies at night.

  The rental is set up nicely. Furnishings were good except for sofa (need firmer foam or replace)Basically clean but found chips under bed, q-tip in bathroom and dust under furniture. Kitchen was stocked well. Could have more dish towels. Management personnel were extremely nice, helpful and friendly. Beach experience was great. Appreciated the weather warnings.   This was our first visit to the Destin/Fort Walton area and Brooks and Shorey made it an awesome one! The condo (Gulf Dunes 508) is top notch, very clean and well decorated.   The stove had oil splattered all over it and the washing machine had a ring of oil from the tanning oil in the suits washed throughout the years. I had to scrub the washing machine down (went shopping for cleaning supplies), scrub the toilet, tub, etc. I did not use the stove or any aspect of the kitchen because of the required cleaning it would take. The pantry needs to be painted. It had a splattering of food, etc. on the inside of the pantry walls. Additionally, it was not vaccuumed. To be safe, I washed my linens before sleeping in the bed based on the condition of the other aspects of the condo. Some of the light bulbs were burnt out as well. Overall, the location and staff were fabulous, but the cleanliness of the condo was horrible.

  • Was the home clean and in good shape?- The condo was nice, however seemed in need of a sprucing up. Carpets were dirty, fixtures were half broken, and things seemed to be in the process of falling apart.
  • Was the vacation rental management staff helpful? Not really
  • Did you have a good overall stay? I had a great time laying on the beach, but I don't think we will stay at gulf dunes again.

  Overall our stay was great. There were a few exceptions. The dishwasher did a lousey job cleaning which was probably due to the lack of water pressure through out the condo. The re-tile job they were doing near by was very disturbing. Even though quite hours were from 10:00 PM to 10:00 AM the construction work began at 8:00 in the morning. Really made it hard to sleep in.
