  We spent 5 nights at Gulf Dunes 505 and overall happy with our experience. Unit was clean and ready for us and had just about everything we needed. Our only complaint is the mattress, it needs to be replaced as its very uncomfortable (older traditional inner spring mattress); we like a firm mattress, but this was bad, this is the only reason we would not book this unit again. Brooks and Shorey was great to work with, responsive to questions.

  Overall it was ok, we were unable to stream in the living room or bedroom as the tvs had no internet. The dishwasher is not secured to the countertop, when you open it it falls forward.

  Overall stay was great. The unit itself had some minor damage on the walls. Also had one dining chair and one outdoor chair that was in need of repair but nothing that had to be fixed during the stay. Brooks and Shorey Management did offer to take care of it right away during the holiday weekend but it wasn’t urgent. They are always awesome to deal with. The master bedroom mattress probably needs replaced. The unit location was excellent and we had a great time.

  This was a small unit but in a great location. You can walk out back to the beach or walk across the street to Stewby’s and an ice cream shop. The pool could have been bigger, it was 4.5 feet at the deepest. Overall we had a good stay.

  We always try to stay in Brooks and Shorey properties. There are lots to like about them, but a couple of things that I'll mention. First there wasn't a blender in the room which may not be a big thing to some folks, but it was for my wife. They took care of that quickly. All good. Second, the ceiling fan in the master bedroom did not work. There was a portable fan, so we used that. All good. The final thing was bothersome to me. The wifi did not work on the day before we left. That's not good. The wifi that we had all week was non-existent. I had business that I needed to finish up with before leaving and couldn't. I did use my hotspot, but that wasn't very reliable either. Don't get me wrong, we did enjoy ourselves on our trip and always do. Just wanted to point out a few things that might make the next family's vacation even better. Thanks.

  We loved our condo! It was clean and neat, and looked newly painted. Absolutely no complaints about it at all. We Had a great view if the beach and gulf from the balcony. But our enjoyment of the balcony was marred by the smell of cigarette smoke. The people directly below us were smokers and spent a lot of time smoking on their balcony. I called Brooks and Shorey and was told that smoking on the balcony is permitted. We have stayed at Gulf Dunes several times and never had this problem before. I don't know if all the buildings on the beach allow smoking. But this is something to consider if smelling smoke bothers you as it does me.

  Our check in was delayed, but due to covid, it was understandable.
  Pros. The condo was cute and the view was fabulous!
  Cons. It would be nice if the code to your room and the code to the pool and beach were the same. The kitchen had too many various dishes and utensils. Nothing matched. My daughter stayed in the West building, and they constantly had issues with the code at the pool/beach not working.

  We had a wonderful trip! The property was gorgeous and well maintained. The view of the beach is spectacular, on Wednesday night, the fire works show from the Boardwalk was so much fun. Many people also sat on the beach to watch. It was a short drive to Destin, so it was easy to get around. We stayed in the east building and the tent and chairs set up start in front of our building at 8 so get there early for a spot on our side of the property. We only used one excursion, wish I had scheduled it earlier to get the day/time that worked best for us. But it was still great fun on the Cattywampus. I loved how they called us prior to check in to make sure we knew how to get into the property and had all the information we needed, we really appreciated that. We will be back!

  This year we stayed at Gulf Dunes! It was one of the condos that one of the girls at the office sent in a email as a discounted condo for having been staying at their properties for the last 10 plus years. Well the discounted $100.00 did not compare to the space in the condo. it was small and it was a challenge with disabled daughter. I will say that the managers on site were exceptional as the two girls helped in everyway they could. Being a disabled veteran parking for me and my disabled daughter was very good, they always had a spot available whenever we returned from dinner or just riding around sight seeing. I hope they would provide better discounts for long time members and vets.

  We loved it from the moment we walked through the door. Clean and comfortable. It was great having a washer and dryer in the unit. The view was spectacular and everyone was so nice. Plenty of cabinets filled with useful kitchen items, but it could use an extra empty cabinet for grocerys, especially if you're staying more than a couple of days. The best part was visiting our son and daughter-in-law stationed at Hurlburt Field a few minutes down the road.

  Nice, clean unit. We were called when our unit was available, which was earlier than expected. Living room has new couches and new tv. Kitchen has plenty of dishes. Bedroom and bathrooms could use a bit of updating/redecorating (carpet, nightstands, etc...) but the beds and pillows were comfortable and has new quilts. Easy access to beach. We could see the fireworks on the pier from our balcony - which had nice furniture on it. We really liked the free beach chairs. And although we didn't do it, you can rent kayaks, paddle board, and other stuff for very reasonable prices on the beach. We would stay here again!

  My husband and I enjoyed our stay here very much! The view was the primary seller when we booked and it did not disappoint. I could sit and look at that water 24/7. The property is as described except for the balcony furniture. It has been upgraded to Adirondack style chairs. Everything was clean and in working order...wish the sofa/love seat had been a little more comfortable. Washer and dryer in condo is a big plus...and both worked well. Internet worked great! I hate when a property advertises high speed internet and it only works for one minute on Wednesday nights in the bedroom while holding iPad next to window! Not here. Pool area was nice and well kept. We could walk to a couple of great restaurants, but driving into Destin was easy. (We were there week before Memorial weekend....still considered off season. I’m sure traffic and crowds pick up later). Great service from Brooks and Shorey. I would definitely recommend this property to anyone. The only thing I found wanting was a full length mirror. Lol!

Possible replacement will be upon further communication with the condo owner. Our general manager will inspect the sleeper sofa in this unit, it is relatively new but we'll make sure everything is still functional and up to standards. Gulf Dunes is a peaceful and relaxing property on Okaloosa, but it's also convenient on top of all that! The wainscoting in this condo is beautiful and I love this addition to this particular condo.   We loved at stay here! It was right on the beach with an amazing view. I could wave down to my family from the balcony to the umbrellas! Which I loved because we took a 7 week old so one of us had to spend some time in the condo with her. :) it was very clean and the staff was fabulous. Our internet wasn't working when we got there we called down to the front desk and they were up to fix it within 10 minutes. The movie rentals and dolphin tour were a great addition to have for the stay! Overall we were very pleased with our stay!!

  We stayed on the 5th floor and the view was great. We spent a lot of time on the balcony. It felt very isolated, private and peaceful. The beautiful view of the Gulf waters was very enjoyable. Just what we were looking for. The unit was very clean and user friendly, and I loved the layout. The freely provided umbrella and chairs on the beach was an added plus, so we didn't have to carry ours. We did not get to use the free DVD's, but would if we stayed longer.

  We had a great time at Gulf Dunes 505. Overall the room was good, but there were a few things that I wasn't totally pleased with. The dead bolt on the front door doesn't work so you couldn't dead bolt yourself in. Also the sliding door to the balcony is so hard to open and close that you had to use both hands and put all of your weight into it. The room was clean except for some fairly big stains on the bedroom curtains.

  Location can't be beat! Quiet room and easy access to grocery store and restaurants. Beach was clean and only access for guests at the condo. Was not crowded like other beaches. Had a volleyball net on the beach with chairs and umbrellas. Grill downstairs. Will definitely come back. Only thing I would change is the skillet. It is wobbly and doesn't cook the food evenly and there is only 1 large one which made it hard to cook bacon and eggs at the same time.

  We recently stayed at Gulf Dunes for a 4 night vacation. From the very beginning we were impressed by the service and quality of the staff and property. We easily booked online and when we arrived early, our room was made available early. We loved the located in walkable vicinity of the boardwalk, but far enough away to be very quiet and peaceful. The condo was beautifully decorated and fully stocked. When we had an issue with the TV the mainenance team quickly addressed it. The property was clean and quiet. We greatly appreciated that the beach was only steps away from the condo. The beach chair service is what made our trip extra relaxing as we were traveling with an infant. We are looking forward to returning next year!

  My wife & I recently stayed in this condo and were pleased with the property! We enjoyed having daily beach service provided, free movie rental as well as tickets to the Sea Blaster. The condo is spacious & well maintained. The only suggestion would be to update the curtains in the bedroom as they are stained and to replace the sofa. Overall the condo was comfortable and provided a perfect location for our vacation. We can't wait to return to this property in the future!!!

  Stayed at this property many times and love it! Not so happy with this particular condo. The bed was very uncomfortable and there is only a lock on the door knob that requires an actual "key". All other units have dead bolts with key pads. Other than that had a great stay but will be sure to avoid this unit in the future.

  Room was nice and we had plenty room for a family of 4. The sand at the beach is by far the best we have ever seen. The only bad thing about the trip was the poor visibility of the water, maybe it was because we went in late July, but the seaweed was terrible in the ocean, not enjoyable at all. We had a snorkeling trip scheduled thru Destin Snorkel but they actually called us to let us know we would not enjoy the cruise because of poor water visibility. If we never go back it wont be because of the Gulf Dunes Resort it will be because of the Gulf of Mexico.

  I thought the vacation rental was great! We loved the simple decorations. It was nice and clean and in good condition. The view from the balcony was beautiful. The only probably we had was getting the balcony door to open and close, it was quite heavy and would get stuck. Other than that we always love staying with Brooke and Shorey Resorts! We love the Gulf Dunes as well!

  We love the Gulf Dunes. Second time in the same unit. There are a few things that need to be replaced/repaired (bedroom curtains, livingroom sofas) but the bed is great, shower is good, everything works well. Marlee the beach attendant is so wonderful, as is the front desk staff.

  We made last minute reservations to escape the snow of Illinois for a few days. We use Brooks & Shorey every time we get a chance. We know we will find a great place to relax. My only complaints were that we were not there long enough and we didn't know that returning guests could get a discount. The nice lady at the front desk told us and we will get it next time!

  Arrived the day after Christmas. The condo was very nice and clean. Everything was provided in the kitchen that we needed. The grounds were clean and nice. The weather was no warmer than the low 50s while we were there. Disappointed with that though nothing that could be done. There wasn't much to do because of that. Would have liked some sort of tour available with the rental like what is offered during the warmer months that is weather friendly. Loved that it was right on the beach and could listen to the waves if we left our door open but wasn't warm enough for that much. I would recommend it but would never go in the winter time ever again.

  All in all this is a very nice place to stay. We enjoyed the view, and complimentary beach service very much. The condo was clean. The kitchen was well stocked and found we had everything we needed where as in the past at other condos we did have to purchase a couple things. We did have an issue with the wifi and was never really helped but it cleared up on its own on the third day. I believe they should install a night lock or dead bolt of some sort I did not like not having a secure feeling during the stay. Also they need to have a in room safe.

  We had an excellent stay at Gulf Dunes. I feel like the room we were in hadn't been kept up very well with rust on the side of the refrigerator and stains on the curtains in the bedroom. Also there was no deadbolt on the door nor did the door latch tight, appeared it may have been broken into at some point. There was also a broken lamp in the living room. These are all jsut minor details in the room. The service was excellent and view was amazing. This is the third time we have stayed with Brooks and Shorey, they were professional as always. We will stay with them again, just probably in a different facility.

  Overall, the property and condo was very nice. The condo had everything you would need for a stay there and more. Next time, we may consider another condo, just for the ability to spread out on the beach a bit more. We felt a little hindered with the lifeguard tower on one side and then a endless row of umbrellas in front of the condo. Gulf Dunes has a great view, 2 nice pools and our condo was clean, nicely decorated, and uncluttered.
