Pelican Isle 608: Charming - on the beach! Balcony, pool, Free Beach Service

FREE PARKING AND FREE WIFI!!!This beautiful condo is located on the top floor of the Pelican Isle.
The master bedroom of this lovely 2 bedroom condo is located on the beach side, and features a balcony which connects to the living room balcony, giving plenty of room for seating out there, 29" LED TV. The second bedroom has a window to the exterior corridor, overlooking Okaloosa Island and the gulf inlet beyond, 24"LED TV, and features 2 full size beds.

All units at Pelican Isle
have a breathtaking view of the Gulf of Mexico and miles of beaches, with white sands extending past the Okaloosa Pier. The resort includes a pool, spa, workout facilities, a barbeque grilling area, and boardwalk access to the beach. Free High-Speed Internet Access is now also available at Pelican Isle!

The pool is heated the week of Thanksgiving and beginning the week of Christmas until March 31st.

All of our daily and weekly guests receive the following complimentary guest package: 2 beach chairs and 1 umbrella set up for you on the beach daily (March 1 to October 31); 1 free round of golf at your choice of 6 different courses daily; 1 free pass to a dolphin cruise daily (March to October 31) ; 1 free adult pass to a snorkeling cruise daily (March to September 30) and free WiFi..

  We loved our week in this condo! The pictures don't do it justice! So pretty! Only issue we had was the ice dispenser in the fridge would get ice stuck in it that would melt and leak out on the floor but we just started checking it each time we got ice. No biggie!

  The condo was spotless, comfortable and we loved the tile floors. Overall, the condo itself needed a little TLC. We asked Brooks and Shorey (on a Sunday) if a few things could be repaired and within a hour all items were being repaired! Also the condo had only had one drinking glass (for ice tea etc.) and a very nice lady from Brooks and Shorey arrived with a box of 9 glasses. From their booking agents, who are incredible and listen to their customers, to customer care and service I believe Brooks and Shorey is the best management team on the Island!

  Brooks and Shorey was great working with us. We had an issue with the AC freezing up and it was resolved within an hour. I was concerned that when we called to push our dates back due to the hurricane, the receptionist wasn’t very helpful at first. Once she got approval from her manager to push our dates out, she was less than kind towards me. We love brooks and Shorey and have been using them since 2012 to book our vacations.   Although the location was good, our particular unit needed updates in both baths. I called for maintenance on Tuesday and by the time we left on Saturday, the repair guy never came. Also, we were with our grandson who wanted to play in the pool. The pool was closed for 3 days for painting - without prior knowledge. (we were given a small refund.)

Unfortunately the Homeowner's Association for the Pelican Isle Condominiums did schedule the pool renovations and this is something that is beyond our control and out of our hands, it's just an issue that has to be tended to as it comes along. We understand the negative impact this could have on your vacation however and even though we reserve the right to not offer compensation for these type items that are beyond anything we could control, we were happy to get you a last minute refund for the inconvenience. We apologize for any miscommunication on the maintenance issues, we are having both showers inspected in this condo to make sure they are functioning properly.   Always love the accomodations & beach....this year was disappointing at the pool/hot tub area. Although posted, many eating, smoking, drinking in the pool, as well as loud music playing. Could hear the music even from our 6th floor balcony. Not as relaxing as we would have liked and disappointed in the non-inforcement of rules.

  The negatives-
  Riding the elevators was an adventure. When we first got there the elevator wouldn't open when it reached our floor. One of the 2 elevators was broke for most of the week then the one that worked had an electrical fire in the electrical room.
  The master bedroom toilet is placed in a very small nook in the bathroom. Unless you are very petite sitting down on it is very uncomfortable, not to mention it would take several flushes.
  The a/c quit working during the night but after calling in the morning, it was fixed by the afternoon.
  The facility pool is on the small side. Maybe 10 ft wide by 30ft long and only 4 ft deep. Not a huge deal but it would be if the condo facility was busier than what it was when we were there.

The elevator situation at the Pelican Isle is unfortunate but thankfully there are TWO elevators right there so if there is trouble with the one there is the other one that's functional. The property management is responsible for the upkeep of these elevators and we've been sure to relay all complaints to them so they can be aware. We take AC issues very seriously and consider this an emergency so please when you come back know that we have the after hours emergency number for AC issues even during the night we can sometimes get them addressed immediately.   Upon arrival our condo was suppose to be ready by 4pm, but was not ready. one of the elevators was not working causing great delays in getting an elevator. There were not enough carts for luggage to be transported up to the rooms. We found a left over beer can behind the TV in the master bedroom. The pool and hot tub had a posted no one under 13 without a parent. One of the security guards was rude and made my 14 year old grandson get out of the pool because he is small for his age, he did not believe it when my grandson told him his age and birthdate. The location is great, the condo itself was nice.

    The Homeowner's Association for the Pelican Isle is responsible for the rules of the property, including age restrictions to the amenities on property as well as the security guard on duty. Our check in starts at 4pm, and we ask for your patience until 6PM sometimes depending on housekeeping's schedule. We did get you into your condo the second it was ready for you. The luggage carts are always being used and these are also the responsibility of the Homeowner's Association of the property, we do not provide these, they are an amenity of the property, there are several there at Pelican Isle, maybe they were being used at the very moment you were trying to unload. Thanks for your stay with Brooks and Shorey Resorts in this wonderful top floor two bedroom gulf front condo. Come back soon for more memories at the beach.

  The condo was nice. There was only 1 elevator working for the whole building, which made for long waits. There was banging on the roof for 2 of the 3 days we were there.

    The Pelican Isle Homeowner's Association is responsible for maintaining the property, the elevators included and unfortunately we have no say-so over the maintenance of the elevators. Unfortunately elevator mechanical issues are specific, as well as the parts that make them. One of these elevators had to get a new part from what we were told by the management this part had to be custom made. The part arrived though and they got it fixed. It's great though that there is a second elevator right by the one that was down, so you still have that elevator even if it might take a few more minutes to take it up to your floor. Properties that have one elevator suffer horribly when elevator issues arise, so we have been thankful for that second elevator at the Pelican Isle!! Top floor unit has both the top floor views as well as the roof right above...any repairs/leaks from the roof are right there unfortunately. Being on the Gulf Coast the salt content in the Gulf and the air really takes a toll on anything constantly exposed...like these condominiums. Thank you for your patience and understanding in this!!! We appreciate you staying with us and look forward to having you back to the beautiful Okaloosa Island!

  Our family of five had a great time in Unit 608! The condo was clean and looked just as it did in the pictures. The view is BREATHTAKING! Coffee on the deck each morning is a must. We also rented movies, used the beach chairs and umbrellas every day and took the dolphin cruise which were all big family hits.
  My only complaints, and these are very minor in the overall enjoyable week we had: none of the DVD remotes in the units worked -- making it a bit more challenging to separate kids ans adults for movie time, the bed in the master bedroom was very squeaky, and the elevators were down -- one for the entire time of our stay and the other one for several hours on one day. With a sixth floor unit, the elevators are a must so having none for an afternoon was a challenge. This is a great unit for a family, a couple, or even a solo traveler.

    We apologize for the damage in the shower of the master bath unfortunately things like this happen as normal wear and tear and we must just address them as they arise and try to tend to them best we can. This was something beyond our control and we sincerely apologize it had to be a problem during your repeat visit this year. The AC's down here are very sensitive to the high humidity outside and with opening and closing balcony doors, the AC will freeze up unexpectedly. We appreciate your patience in this and we truly strive to fix any and everything that arises for our guests.     How unfortunate your vacation at the Pelican Isle was not all that you had imagined, sometimes there are maintenance issues that are beyond our control and for these occurrences we do apologize. At the moment there are 7 luggage carts in the parking garage of the Pelican Isle. Considering you were here during peak season, maybe the carts were all being utilized when you and your family arrived. The luggage carts are a hot commodity during the summer, some days more so than others. The Pelican Isle does provide security on summer weekends and holidays, unfortunately a few bad apples can put a damper on the fun for others. Hopefully you were able to enjoy the Gulf view, the movie rentals, or the beach service. We honestly strive to make everyone's coastal vacation perfect, we hope to welcome you back to OKaloosa Island in the near future.

The Pelican Isle has the BEST location on Okaloosa Island and it provides the most relaxing getaway for everyone. Being further towards the end of the Island, you really find fewer crowds, BUT you are still close enough to all the shops and restaurants of downtown Fort Walton Beach! This two bedroom condo with the bunks it has enough room for comfort for all guests. The tile throughout the condo is super nice, no old carpet to deal with and there are many other updates this condo offers.   Pelican Isle is our favorite place to stay. We have been coming here for years. We have made new friends with people that also come here at the same time each year. However they were a couple minor issues with this unit. The internet kept going out. The shower in the guest bedroom was inadequate and the tub was cracked. Overall we compromised and it did not affect our stay.

  The condo had enough room for all of us and the furnishings were nice. The walls were in need of new paint. The dyer took hours to get clothes dry. Any problems we had were taken care of right away. The owners could stock the cooking utensiles a little better, ie - steak knives, spatulas and grilling utensils. We enjoyed Ft. Walton Beach and the resturants in the area. Mc guires was great! The staff at Pelican Isle were very helpful and quick to address any problems.

  Beautiful view out on the spacious balcony. Clean, nice pool and hot tub. Our only problem was the shower in the master bathroom, the shower head was in disrepair. There is plenty of sleeping space and the master bedroom and living room is beautiful.

  we rented four condos for a family get together and all the rooms were great but ours. We lacked alot of ammenities like cookie sheets, pans, and the toaster was not working that well. The frig also leaks and gets the kitchen floor wet. We loved our time there though and would love to come back..

  My one word description of the unit would be "shabby". Bed coverings did not fit the beds; living room furniture very worn, even had a tear in the sofa;
  rug in kitchen was raveling;screen door did not close completely. All in all the place needs some work done on it.

  We thought the Pelican Isle 608 condo was nice for the price. There were a few minor things such as outdated furnishings, broken patio door, spots on the carpet, broken doorstop. But the condo was very clean and in a good location. There is nothing better than sleeping to the sound of the ocean and that's exactly what we got. Very peaceful location away from the hustle and bustle. We would definitely stay there again.

  My two daughters, granddaughter, and I had a great stay in PI 608. Plenty of room for the 4 of us, great beach and beach assistance from Eric, friendly and helpful front desk, and quick elevators. Pool a touch sandy and warm, but I guess at the beach on a hot day, that is expected. Wonderful balcony and view from the condo. We even had a bathroom door lock issue, and the front desk sent maintenance up promptly. We'll rent PI again, and we loved 608.

We booked this year through Brooks & Shorey and paid several hundred dollars less and had the added convenience of picking up our key on site instead of fighting the traffic at their office several miles down the road.   We loved the property and the unit we stayed it was clean well maintained and the people were very friendly. The view was beautiful and the furniture was very nice especially the balcony furniture. the seats allowed us to sit on the balcony comfortably and see the view without any problems. We loved the hot tub. We enjoyed the onsite manager Tesse, she was very friendly and helpful. She was a wonderful addition to our visit.

  Our stay at pelincan isle 608 was great. The only downfall was that we were charged nearly $30 to have a bedspread cleaned that we did not soil. There was a big pink stain on the bed when we arrived, but we didn't call it in because we thought it was obvious and that the management would have noticed it. Boy were we wrong!!!!!
