Storage compartments/shelves are now featured at one end of the bunks as well as underneath the bottom bunk - plenty of room to store the kids' things for the week!! NOT ONLY does PI 406 have this customized new storage room in the bunks but it also has custom installed FLAT-SCREEN TV'S in each bunk so the little ones can self-entertain early mornings/late evenings while the adults enjoy beverage & relaxation times. A full second bathroom sits just off the bunks in the hallway where a full-size stand up shower and custom vanity await all guests/bunk sleepers. The washer/dryer are conveniently in the hallway for all your laundry needs and then the kitchen, dining, and living rooms are all on the GULF (south) end of the unit for unbelievable views of the beautiful Emerald Coast.   My husband and I rented Pelican Isle 406 to celebrate our anniversary. It was pretty, comfortable, and had a perfect view of the ocean! Loved our balcony! We were very pleased overall. We also love the condo’s location on the Okaloosa beach. It’s farther from the pier (almost to the closed military section), and so always seems less crowded than other parts of the beach.!
  
  If you’re planning to do a lot of cooking, make sure you bring any special kitchen items you need from home, as the kitchen wasn’t super stocked. It worked just fine for us, though, as we ate most of our meals at our favorite seafood places! Yum!

Overall, we had a nice stay but might look for a location with better outdoor amenities next time.

  This was our first trip to the Island and we loved every minute of it. Overall the condo was great. We have never had this type of vacation before so spending this kind of money wasn’t easy. Except...we counted on the excursion that was offered as a freebie but it was a complete mess. The company that they use for the snorkeling dolphin cruise was completely unprofessional and after the run around all week they canceled our trip on our last day. But as long as your not counting on that as a reason you choose the condo it’ll be fine! The condo was mostly perfect. Lots of grit on counters and in cabinets but felt like sand. A few dirty dishes. Otherwise would I rent again? Yes, but plan things differently.

  We've been coming to Ft. Walton/Destin area over 30 years and this complex is a favorite. Plenty of parking, speedy elevators and easy access to beach with no gate needing keypad entry/exit. Extremely quiet even with full parking lot. Friendly staff especially Joel and his partner setting up beach chairs. There were many people that were extremely nasty and rude to these guys but they always stayed kind and respectful.
  This unit is beautiful and oozes relaxation. Living room comfortable for sitting around and kitchen stocked well.
  The beds are another story. All were like laying on cardboard. We used to bring a padded mattress pad but hadn't needed it the last few rentals.
  While the balcony set made from PVC pipe is trendy and cute it's not very comfortable for sitting in very long (we're not large people) and the table is too large to move around easily.
  Over all this is a great unit we'd rent again but we'd bring bed and chair pads.

  Pelican Island condo are always the best for the money. They are located on Okaloosa Island where it is not as crowded as the Destin area beaches. But, Destin is only 6 miles away where we go for dinner. The Gulf is the "same pond" as Destin but more peaceful.

    We LOVE Pelican Isle condos and this one in particular is just a *GEM*. It has everything you could need and want while on a vacation getaway with your family and loved ones. The one bedroom two bath setup is great for a budget friendly rental with room for comfort and relaxation. This unit has adorable decor and furnishings, especially the bistro height PVC balcony furniture, it's a super perk to renting this specific unit. The location of this property is ideal being away from traffic and noise at the beginning of the Island you can truly enjoy peace and rest while on vacation.     Oh I just LOVE this unit, I'm so sorry it was not up to better standards for your vacation! It's been a super busy summer, lots of traffic and at this point in the year we are beginning our DEEP CLEANS and inventory check and all sorts of inspections on ALL our condos. This is the time of year when we are able to get in the condo and fix everything up. This 406 condo at the Pelican Isle is truly a gem. The owner keeps the updates coming. The balcony furniture is honestly the most updated type in the market, and there have not been complaints about them being uncomfortable. They do last a lifetime though so we'll see about maybe having them recovered, something to make each more comfortable for our guests. Complimentary beach service is an amenity we love providing for all our rentals, we are so glad you got to take advantage. It's really convenient to not have to tote your own chairs and umbrella down to the beach every morning and afternoon.   First I must say that Barbara was wonderful to work with. The condo was everything that the listing said it was....we were very happy with our stay. No problems at all. Quiet place almost at the end of Santa Rosa Blvd. The water at the sugary white sand beach was a beautiful blue color and when you got in you could see your feet while standing in waist to neck deep water. This was our first trip to Okaloosa/Fort Walton Beach and won't be our last. I'm sure we'll be returning in the future!

    We would have loved to have had the chance to address and fix that microwave for you-unfortunately we never heard anything from you at the front desk or anything to be able to send maintenance. We are truly sorry about the lack of functional appliance on that part, please please know this is something that we easily and quickly address while you're here so you don't have to miss out on any of the features you rented! Unfortunately the elevators did have some hiccups, but after much work and lots of attention, they are BOTH running smoothly now. Hopefully this will not be an issue during your future stays. This 406 condo is a personal favorite of mine, the bedroom furniture is so pretty, the balcony furniture is upgraded, and the decor throughout is very tasteful-everything you'd need in a beach condo!   Our family of 4 was extremely happy with this condo. Everything was clean and the beds were so comfortable. I was a little worried about the size of the bunk beds for my 14 year old son but they were plenty big enough. The kids loved that they each had a TV in their bunk with their own remote. All the TVs were flat screens and very nice. We did not use the sofa sleeper. The lady at the check in desk was great. We took advantage of the movie card and watched several good movies while on vacation. There were plenty movies to choose from and many current titles. We will definitely stay here again.

The only minor things I noticed was the top electrical outlet in the living area was broken. The overhead vent in the master bath did not look like it had been cleaned for a while. The last day we were there, we could smell cigarette smoke when we sit out on the balcony. We will probably rent this property again if it is available.

  The condo was awesome. Clean, everything you could need and the perfect location. The staff was great. We weren't suppose to check in until 4pm. We arrived at 10:30 and were able to go ahead to the beach. The front desk called me by 11 and had our room ready! We felt like we had an entire extra day by checking in so early. We will definitely stay there again next year!

  This was our first time to Fort Walton Beach. We were very pleased with our choice to stay at Pelican Isle. Unit 406 was exactly what we needed for a family of 4, and could have accommodated a family of 6 nicely. Great view of the Gulf from the balcony!

  This is the third time we have rented this condo and we have never had any issues. It is always clean, everything works, and a great view of the gulf. The agents from Brooks and Shorey were pleasant to deal with and the inclusion of the beach chairs and umbrella in the rental means one less thing to worry about.

  Very nice room and didn't want to leave! Only thing that bothered us was that housekeeping came a couple hours early and we asked to her to come back at 11 when it was time to check out. Other than that it was great!! Beautiful view and room and front desk/management was very friendly!!!

  Unfortunately the weather did not cooperate and we ended up spending more time than we had hoped in our condo. So we were thankful for such a nice place. Very comfy beds! The kids and my husband thoroughly enjoyed the flat screen TVs. Location is perfect! Right on the beach. Elevators are clean and easily accessible. We had an issue with the lock on our balcony and they came to fix it within the hour. Vey helpful and friendly staff. This is our second year at Pelican Isle and I would definitely recommend it! One thing we were concerned with is there is not much room for seating at the pool, but we were always able to find an available chair.

  The unit was nicely furnished and decorated. The view was great. The staff were all very pleasant. Unit was clean except that the floor was not swept...just sandy in some spots, not dirty, but hey it's at the beach! Flat panel TVs in living room, bedroom and even at the foot of each bunk bed. Very large corner shower in second bathroom made it easy to clean up from the beach. Wireless internet was very fast. Having two chairs and an umbrella at the beach was a great plus. We loved the place and would stay there again.

  When we moved in, the lamps, shelves etc. were dusty and when my wife cleaned the floor, she got a lot of dirt up. This is the 2nd time we have used this condo and really like the location. If we needed anything, the front desk and service were very responsive. We loved the front facing balcony as we had sun all day and the beach views were great.

  We enjoyed the stay at this condo but there were a few things that needed to be repaired which I told the front desk on. The hide-away bed frame was broken so we had to prop the bottom up so my son couldn't sleep on it. The chairs out side kept falling apart and I sat on one of the chairs and I fell to the ground. I also mention to the desk that when they clean the condo that they should make sure they clean the dryer vent really well. It was plug up from people not cleaning it.
  If they fix these few things I would stay at that condo again.

  The beach is beautiful and we loved being able to walk outside and be right there! Watching the dolphins swim was wonderful. A few reccomendations would be, if the propery could fit the outside tables with umbellas. The unit was great, just would suggest having a new broom. Loved being able to relax and swim!

  There are a few things that need cleaning such a horizontal furniture dust and towel rail dust. The tops of the TV cabinets are thick with dust as was the ceiling fan in the bedroom. Probably need to be put on a bi-weekly or monthly schedule
  
  I noticed the toilet seat does not stay up in the master bathroom, a problem for a male in the middle of the night. I had to use the 2nd bathroom if I had to get up at night which was a little inconvenient and could not use it during the day due to the falling seat but no problem during the day as you spend what little time you’re in the condo in the kitchen and living room area.
  
  The sliding patio door track is filthy, almost looks like black mold?? Also the patio door lock didn’t work. I bought a dowel at Home Depot just so the door is secure since the lock doesn't work. I know its 4 floors up but I know that if I really wanted to I could climb over from the patio next door and enter the unit. I know that’s picky but I own a property management company and I do everything I can for my owners to make sure they feel as secure as possible. Lots of opportunists out there who do crazy things.
  
  An additional security item, is the code to the door changed with each new guest? What stops a previous guest from getting in units they stayed in previously? Seems to me that if you're not in the unit and can’t lock the deadbolt anyone who has stayed in that unit before can access it. There is some risk and exposure there.
  
  I think if those things were addressed this place would receive 5 stars for all my ratings.
  
  We had a great time, got lots of sun and fun. The beach was beautiful and with Destin just a few miles a way there is a lot to do in the evening.
