Pelican Isle is a 100% non-smoking property, except in designated areas.

The pool is heated the week of Thanksgiving and beginning the week of Christmas until March 31st.

Loved this unit. Got a call before we arrived that the murphy bed was out of service. When we arrived it was gone completely and they had installed a nice dresser and touched up the wall. It probably looks better without the bed and we did not need it! Overall loved the unit. The dishwasher had some funky growth in it so we avoided that, otherwise 5 stars.

I was VERY pleased with the condo and it's cleanliness. The kitchen had the bare minimum when it came to equipment, but it was plenty for the two of us as we ate out every night. The complex is nice. The furnishings are what I would expect from a rental and in good shape. All in all this is a good condo and our experience with the rental company was very good. The smart phone app they provide is very useful!

Loved our stay each time we have stayed in this unit. Surprised by the lovely remodel since last spring. Very clean, comfortable quiet.. and we will be back. Location is good for easy access to beach and all things Destin or westward. Pelican Isle management needs to get both elevators working for the last 3 times we stayed only 1 worked. This time the one got stuck early in our Vista was repaired and as we left my son in law was stuck in elevator at 5:45 am. 911 brought the fire dept and using stairs we loaded and left.
Must say unit is great and if elevators are working we will be back again real soon. Brooks n Shorey is awesome and have taken care of us for several years now.

Must say one of the best as far as cleanliness, furnishings for unit 311 and th entire complex was well kept. I did not have to sanitize anything. We ve been coming several times a yr over last 15 yrs and will be back to this unit again. Compliments to the owner who has the unit tastefully decorated and stocked with good quality linens, towels, and kitchen items. The parking with this unit was a plus. These 2 seniors, our" kids" and our 12 yr old great gson loved every minute there. Elizabeth at Brookes n Shorey has been so helpful during our last several stays in the area. 😊

This is one of my favorite units. It's clean, quiet and has almost everything you'd expect.
I have stayed here twice in one season however, and the door code did not change. This is a pretty big security issue to me. Also on my latest visit, they did not leave dish towels and pot holders as they usually do.
Not necessarily specific to this unit but to all units in this building, they need blackout curtains on the bedroom window. The sun will blast you in the morning. (at least you'll be up early enough to reserve a chair on the beach. Seriously. Do that.)
The dishwasher also needs attention.
Other than that, I recommend it.

My daughter and I stayed in this lovely condo the week of Thanksgiving. The condo was well appointed, cutely decorated, and met all of our needs. The only suggestion I can make is perhaps firmer pillows (or bring your own) I woke up with a crick in my neck every morning. The beach is beautiful, and I woke up every morning a jogged the west end of the island. The complex wasn’t very crowded since it was off-season but I doubt I would want to stay there during peak season as there is a lot of noise coming from the pool area, etc. Overall we had a lovely stay and would stay at this particular complex/condo again.

We have been staying on the island for at least 25 years and have rented this condo the last 2 years. The beach was awesome. The water was rough but clear. Jellyfish appeared by the 3rd day but not a whole lot, you could still get in the water. The umbrellas could use some updating. The beach service was spot on. Those guys were awesome. I watch one of the guys assist an elderly blind woman off the beach and up and over the bridge! The condo was clean and plenty big for the two of us. The washer sounds like airplane landing when it runs and the hall bath sink did not drain well at all. I notified Brooks and Shorey at check out time. I'm sure they will address the issues. One of the elevators was out of commission for 2 or 3 days which slowed travel time and beers runs to the beach. The garage parking spot is really nice. We rented a pontoon boat and spent the day at crab island, what a blast! There is a new restaurant right on Santa Rosa Blvd called Stewby's. It was delicious and affordable and within walking distance. The representative at Brooks and Shorey that I spoke to was about as rude as you can get. The water went out at our condo as I was in the shower, I waited for about 20 minutes before calling the property management office because I just did not want to speak to her again. I do want to say I have no idea who she called but the water was back on about 15 minutes after notifying her. All in all we would absolutely stay here again.

We were happy with the condo. It could use a good deep cleaning. When we got there at night, the top bunk had not been changed as there was sand all through it. So we had to do laundry upon arriving. Of course the next day, they offered to have the cleaning crew come back, but that is to little to late at that point. The baseboards in the bathrooms need cleaned as there is hair and dirt all over them. Beyond that, the beach is beautiful and because of us traveling at the end of June there were not many people. It was very relaxing and enjoyable!

We had a great spring break week at PI 311 and I would definitely recommend the Pelican Isle and specifically Unit 311. I had read other condo reviews about the couch in other units being uncomfortable because it was a pull out. Because unit 311 has a murphy bed, the couch was very comfortable. We did not pull the murphy bed down to give it a try.

Although we didn't do much cooking, because we enjoy going out to dinner for seafood while in Florida, the kitchen had everything we needed. The freezer produced plenty of ice to keep our drinks cold and fill small coolers for the beach without having to buy ice.

The condo worked well for our family of 3. The top bunk is pretty tight, but our 14 year old son slept up there, because the tv in the bottom bunk wasn't working. I did not call to get it fixed, because with the top bunk working as well as the TV's in the master bedroom and living room, that was plenty.

I had read in the reviews or in the ad that there were sand toys under the bunk bed, but the only things there were a couple beach chairs that we didn't use. I am not sure what happened to the sand toys, but we would have packed some if we would have known. We did have friends staying in other units, so instead he just used their sand toys to build a sand castle.

We did go on the Sea Blaster Dolphin cruise with all the other families in our group. We had a lot of fun, but you should know that it is free wine and beer the whole time, so more of a booze cruise than a dolphin cruise. But we did see some dolphins. We were also able to spot dolphins from the beach and the deck. You should pack binoculars to use, because it is fun to look out onto the beach and water.

We decided at the last minute to drive down to the Destin/Ft. Walton area to get away for a few days. We inquired about a property and within minutes we had a follow up phone call wanting to know if we had any questions. When we described what we were looking for the Manager suggested a different property which was better suited to our needs. They followed up with us on all of our questions and were very easy to work with. The property was outstanding and better than expected. Very clean and no surprises. The condo was immaculate and very close to restaurants, shopping, etc.

My family of 3 really enjoyed our stay in 311. It was super clean, completely stocked with linens, had a roomy washer/dryer, nice, modern appliances, like new furniture and an amazing view. It may be their normal practice but we were very grateful to get in the room earlier than scheduled due to Hurricane Nate. The pool was actually larger than it appeared in the pics.

Had a wonderful week at Pelican Isle! Accommodation was perfect for our family. Grandchildren loved having their own tv at each bunk. Room was very well supplied and owner's idea of " paying it forward" added a special touch. Only issue we had was when we returned from dinner one evening someone had parked in the parking space reserved for our room and no one "after hours" was available/nor returned our call. Disappointed in the lack of response from an otherwise very attentive staff.

We have stayed in many condos over the years from Gulf Shores to Destin. Pelican Isle #311 has been the best of all of them. I have no complaints about the condo itself. They only thing that would make it better is to not allow smoking anywhere in the building including the balconies. It would have been nice to be able to use the balcony without breathing somebody else's drug addiction.

We love this unit, but unfortunately mother nature didn't want to co-operate.
Hurricane Patricia stirred up the algae in the gulf, causing a condition called red tide. It caused a lot of discomfort to most visitors, besides killing a lot of fish. This was no fault of the condo, but it did affect our enjoyment of the week we could have had.

Although it's not in our control, we wish we could have prevented it for sure! Thank you for staying at Pelican Isle with us at Brooks and Shorey Resorts, I'm glad at least that your ratings reflect that everything else was great on your trip. This is a great condo so I'm glad you were able to at least enjoy it. Red tide has since pushed way off shore so the beach is back to its gorgeous self. Please come see us again!

The room was very nice and was well cleaned. It was so nice to have covered parking and all the extras were great! Free movies, rental chairs included, extra chairs and beach toys, all very nice. The beds were very comfortable and our granddaughter loved the bunk bed with her own TV! The view from the balcony was beautiful and other than hearing people at the pool (and that couldn't be helped) it was so nice. The only suggestion I would make is to remove the towel cabinet in the master bathroom and replace it with a shelf over the toilet for towels.

Our stay in Fort Walton was wonderful! The complex was great, the unit was perfect for us. The bed was very confortable, our kids loved the TVs in their bunks, the Murphy bed worked out really well. We have never been to Destin or Fort Walton in October, so we weren't sure what to expect, but the weather and water were perfect and we were so grateful to have no rain the entire time! Plus this time of year, the crowds were not bad at all. Loved our stay and we would definitely stay here again!!

Pelican Isle is nice, well kept and responsive when there has been a problem. We like Room 311, we have stayed in this room 2 to 3 times. The kitchen is nice and the bed in the bedroom is really good. The furniture in the living area is pretty new, but a little uncomfortable. Right now there is a little too much furniture. I would like to see them take out one of the chairs, trade the other chair for a lounger, maybe change out the couch, but it isn't too bad. We really enjoy the complimentary beach chairs and umbrella, the view from the room is great. We love sitting on the balcony eating breakfast and diner. Pelican Isle is our first choice when scheduling and room 311 is also our first choice. We are planning on staying in a different room next year just to change things up a little. (maybe the furniture will be a little more comfortable).

This was a wonderful vacation for my family and I. We had such a great time relaxing in this beautiful condo. Barbara was very nice! We loved watching the dolphins every morning while drinking coffee on the balcony. A.J.'s and McGuires, in Destin has the best food around. Took a pontoon boat to Crab Island on the last day and had a blast! So much fun! Only complaint-The murphy bed's sheets had not been changed when we got there. The upgraded kitchen was very nice with granite countertops! My kids were so sad when we had to leave.:( Thank you for the memories! We will be back!!!

Great property, great condo. I really like having the larger flat screen TVs in the front room and bedroom. Nice furnishings and comfortable couch. I really appreciated being able to check in to our room on time this year. We have came to Pelican Island for 3 or 4 years now, and this is the first time that the condo was actually ready at 4pm like it is supposed to be. So, thanks to the cleaning crew for getting their jobs done on time.

We like the location of the property and the size of the complex. This is the second year we rented this unit. The sofa and the king bed seem to be getting quite soft and aren't very comfortable. We enjoyed our week long stay in this quiet part of Fort Walton Beach, right on the Gulf. This unit is clean, nicely decorated, and has a beautiful, well appointed kitchen that allowed us to cook many meals in, so we could avoid all the tourist-trap restaurants in the area. The included "beach service" is a plus. A minor annoyance is the noise from the pool, which is directly below this unit. Everything else is "First Cabin". We would definitely rent this unit again, and would consider other units in Pelican Isle if necessary.

We have for a long time vacationed on the east coast, often Hilton Head, but find the Fort Walton/Destin area to be absolutely wonderful. We have stayed at other properties on Santa Rosa Blvd but prefer Pelican Isle. You can't beat the view of the ocean and the accomodations. The staff on site was very professional and helpful. Our birthday gift to our adult daughters every year is a getaway from their everyday life with family & careers. So me & my daughters love to go to the beach, shop, eat & relax. I'm going to list a few things, but by no means did any of these things keep us from having a wonderful time.

1.Due to a few storms out in the gulf, the water wasn't as pretty and blue as it usually is and one day the sand flies or something were awful & kept biting.
2. The rental was very comfortable & roomy. We did notice that when we were making up the Murphy bed the pillows had hair on them which you really don't want to see. Also, the hair dryer one on the wall in the master bedroom was unplugged & when we plugged it in to use it it did not work. That wasn't a problem because two of us had brought our own hair dryers.
3. We were never certain if the door was locked, so one of us would have to go outside while the other locked or unlocked so we would know which way to turn it. It would have been nice to have a security chain or something.

Other than these few things our trip was great and we do plan to return next year.

You really could not ask for a better place to stay. Clean, staff was friendly, views outstanding. Our children (9 and 8) loved the bunks with televisions after playing all day. Feel free to uses the flashlight we left for some nightime beach walks for Sand Crabs and other sea creatures that come out at night. We look forward to a return visit next Labor Day!

The overall property (building) seemed a little run down - chairs and rugs in the entrances needed replacing and the landscaping needed some attention. Someone left something in the pool one day which rendered it unusable for 2 days. The unit was clean but does not come with any kitchen soap, only 2 trash bags (for a six night stay), no paper towels. There were adequate kitchen cooking utensils and pans. Unfortunately the freezer only made about 2 trays of ice so we were constantly running out for bags of ice. There is only 3 places to sit in the living room since the murphy bed takes up most of one wall and you cannot put anything in front of it - unless you want to sit in the dining room table chairs. Overall it was satisfactory but it so small it is only comfortable for 4 guests. I think the management company could do several upgrades in the lobby and grounds area that would make the condos more attractive from the entrance.
